Mobile commerce (mcommerce) is a booming market for online store owners. Customers are shopping more and more online, so it's important for ecommerce merchants to start thinking mobile. Here are 8 tips for designing a great mobile web storefront.
1. Give Your User Options
Let your shopper decide how to browse your content. Some want to download a native iOS or Android application, other's will use your mobile website, and some want to use the normal website. You can either give the user the option to choose right on entry as NewEgg does, or have a notification allowing them to switch.

2. Brick & Mortar's Should Show Close Locations
Shoppers that are on the go are often interested in finding the location of the closest physical store. You can drive customers to your brick & mortar store easily by displaying the closest location. Use mobile effectively by getting the location of the user, and presenting them with the closest options right away.
A lot of businesses also present local phone numbers to mobile users as they may want to talk to someone instead of fumbling around on a screen for one item they need quickly.

3. Prominent Search
Users on mobile are quickly turned away by having to drill through selections. Allow the user to get right to the desired product by entering a few keywords.

4. Present Granular Categories
Let users quickly get into sub categories without tapping through multiple menus. It's better for a user to have to scroll past a few unwanted categories than to have to tap 5 times to navigate drill-down selections.

5. Checkout with PayPal
Quicker than entering detailed credit card information, prominently display a PayPal button for getting quick payment by simply logging in.

6. Show Fresh and Relevant content
Show sections such as Deal of the Day, What's New and fresh campaigns to keep the content interesting and dynamic, so your users have a reason to return.

7. Let Your Brand Shine
Unlike much mobile application design, with storefronts you can really own the design with your brand. Finding a great blend between feeling like a branded website and feeling like a native app is much easier with the flexibility of web design and expected mobile behaviours.

8. Integrate Social Media
Let your users do your business development for you. Twitter and Facebook sharing options will allow people who love your products to easily promote them.

Hopefully these tips will help your online retail business boost mobile sales!
